Arizona Football commit Kolbe Cage cannot wait to get on campus and get to work and that’s why we wanted to sit down chat with him.

Arizona Football commit Kolbe Cage stands 6-foot-1 and weighs 210 pounds, he is a defensive back. At this time of the year it is fun to get to know Arizona Football’s new class of student-athletes coming in and this year there has been a whirlwind of players transferring, staying, and committing. Cage is 100 percent committed to play at the University of Arizona.

As a junior in high school at Holy Cross in New Orleans, Louisiana, he was named1st team All-District. Zona Zealots Site Expert Eric Townsend broke down his thoughts in December:

"From his film, there is a lot to like as Kolbe will line-up a lot in safety or linebacker and shows not only to be adequate in his ball pursuing skills but also in his coverage skills.Overall, he looks to be a good athlete that can provide good coverage when need be, or load the box against the opposing team. He can get sideline-to-sideline pretty smoothly, he shows good quickness overall, has good instincts and motor and packs a solid punch when he hits the ball carrier."

Cage was recruited by Coach Theron Aych and signed with Arizona in December 2020. When asked if the new coaching staff would change his mind, Cage answered, “I’m still signing with Arizona.” He has been active on Twitter with enthusiasm for recruits and commits. We took the chance to ask the new Wildcat a few questions.

ZZ: So how excited are you for the new coaching staff? And do you know which coach you will work with?

KC: I’m very excited and pumped about the new staff that Coach Fisch is putting together. I feel like they will be able to guide us in the right direction and turn this program around. I’m not sure which coach I will work with, but it’s either Coach Cecil or Coach Walker.

ZZ: The amount of NFL experience coming to Tucson in coaching is unprecedented…are you looking forward to learning from them? What are you doing to prepare to be a Wildcat?

KC: I am most definitely looking forward to learning from them. I know they’ll be able to take my game and knowledge to the next level. For the past 3 days, I’ve been watching videos on how Coach Brown runs his defense, and I like it a lot because he loves to be aggressive and I feel like I’ll be put in the right position to make plays. I’ve also been working out trying to put on even more muscle and be more explosive so I can already be prepared when I arrive on campus.

ZZ: What are you going to miss about Louisiana? And what are you looking forward to living in the desert? Have you had Mexican food?

KC: A few things I’ll miss about Louisiana is my family, my close friends, and the food we have down here. I’m looking forward to meeting new people and just being able to play and meet the players and staff. And I’ve had Mexican food before, my favorite is quesadillas.

ZZ:  Who is your inspiration? Do you have a motto or something you live by?

KC: My inspiration is my family, I want be able to take care of them when I make it to the league. And my motto is to never forget where I come from and always remind myself where I’m going.

ZZ:  Any message for Wildcats fans? And do you have a nickname?

KC: I’m just ready to ball and change the program around! And no I don’t have a nickname

ZZ:  Hmmm, well we will have to fix that!

KC: Appreciate it! Bear Down! Coach Fisch is doing a great job!

Here is an interview with Kolbe discussing his commitment to the UofA:
