Depth at quarterback is no longer a concern for Arizona Football as the Wildcats have now added USF transfer Jordan McCloud.

It has been a busy few weeks for Arizona Football, and in case you thought the Wildcats had a problem at quarterback, well think again as the Wildcats have now added their second transfer within the week, this time it is USF transfer Jordan McCloud.

Making his announcement via social media, the Tampa area Dual-Threat quarterback decided to shut his recruitment down and leave the comfort of his native home in Florida and head to the Southwest.

Just weeks prior, McCloud was capping off a solid, abbreviated 2020 season where he completed 32 of 46 passes for 404 yards and four touchdowns in a 58-46 loss to UCF.

Make no mistake about it, but this is a nice addition for Arizona.

Considered just a sophomore due to the temporary Covid-impacted transfer rules, Jordan will come to Tucson with a great chance to compete for immediate playing time, and he now also gives the Wildcats four scholarship QBs instead of two. That’s a much better spot to be in if you are Arizona compared to just two weeks ago.

Transferring to Tucson with immediate eligibility, he will compete with Gunner Cruz, Will Plummer, and Kevin Doyle in what should be an exciting Spring.

As for Jordan, he is a talented kid and a former three-star quarterback in the class of 2018. A standout quarterback for the Bulls, Jordan appeared in 20 games throwing for 2,770 yards on 244/418 pass attempts with 21 touchdowns to just 10 interceptions.

He’s a bit mobile with his legs too, running for 357 yards on 167 attempts (2.1-yard average) and five touchdowns.

With the depth Arizona now has at quarterback, that should qualm the concerns amongst fans, and should give the Wildcats some nice options at the position moving forward, starting with McCloud.

At 6-feet and 193 pounds, he possesses decent size and has nice mobility to make him a dangerous threat to turn it up the field and run if need be.

He also has good arm strength, decent accuracy, and is continuing to improve on the field as well. This is a great addition by Arizona, and we cannot wait to see how he does in Tucson! Welcome, Jordan!

Just see for yourself!
