In case this off-season couldn’t get any better for Arizona Football, the Wildcats have now added Arizona legend, Tedy Bruschi and we breakdown what that means.

After adding other Arizona Football legends like Chuck Cecil, Ricky Hunley, and Brandon Sanders to the staff, there was much belief among fans that Wildcat legend Tedy Bruschi would also be joining the program in some capacity. Well, on Monday afternoon, head coach Jedd Fisch pulled off his biggest win yet as Bruschi will be also joining the staff.

Making news via Social Media, the University of Arizona officially introduced Bruschi, where he will be having along anticipated reunion, as he rejoins the program as a Senior Advisor to the Head Coach.

So what does that mean? Well, despite the ambiguity in the title of the role itself, Bruschi will rejoin the program, where he will serve as “a member of the executive football management team while serving as a consultant with the entire football staff. He will also assist the head coach in alumni relations, fundraising, social justice initiatives, and student-athlete development off the field” according to the Athletic Department.

Likely serving in more of a part-time capacity, this is a role that won’t have Bruschi as a face of the program, or getting out there and recruiting, however, this is still an important hire that could very well have plenty of benefits for the program.

For starters, Bruschi has been an NFL analyst on ESPN for the past few years, and he has been very vocal with his support of Arizona. Assuming he still gets the opportunity to speak on ESPN while serving as a Senior Advisor, that kind of exposure is huge.

Additionally, this is a job that is perfect for Bruschi. He is a well-liked and well-respected individual, and having someone like that working with student-athletes will provide long-term wins not only on the field, but off the field as well, in my opinion. Plus, having someone knowledgeable like that giving Fisch tips isn’t a bad thing either.

Lastly, Tedy is one of the most beloved football alumni among fans. Considering it was just months ago that he admitted he wasn’t interested in coaching, to suddenly have Coach Jedd Fisch help change his mind and bring him back and be involved with the program is a major deal.
