Play Ball! Skipper Jay Johnson and the Arizona Baseball team releases their 2021 schedule, which is set to begin on February 19!

With dreams of Omaha and hopefully winning some hardware, the Arizona Baseball team is gearing up for a 2021 season that comes with high expectations and National notoriety as they are a universally Top 25 ranked team in all major baseball publications.

Coming into 2021, the Wildcats enter the year ranked No. 10 by Collegiate Baseball, No. 11 by Perfect Game, No. 15 by Baseball America, and No. 22 by D1 Baseball. Add in their incoming No. 4 recruiting class according to D1 Baseball, and Ryan Holgate landing in MLB Pipeline’s Top 100 Draft Prospects this looks to be a can’t miss season of Arizona Baseball.

The 2021 season opens with a matchup of the Wildcats taking on MAC foe Ball State for a three-game set starting February 19. It also features matchups against Oklahoma (Ranked 23 by Baseball America), Dallas Baptist (Ranked 24th by Collegiate Baseball), and American Athletic Conference power Wichita State, in addition to a strong slate of Pac-12 foes.

Hi Corbett Field is set to host at least 34 games

The Wildcats will welcome a nice mixture of teams to Hi Corbett Field this year, as they welcome 12 opponents to Tucson, led off of course by Ball State.

In non-conference play, the Wildcats will also welcome Southeast Louisiana, Wichita State, New Mexico State, Grand Canyon, and Dixie State to Tucson. For Pac-12 play, the Wildcats will have home series against Oregon, California, USC, Utah, and Washington.

Additionally, the Wildcats will welcome Arizona State for a single game in Tucson on April 6. If the Wildcats live up to expectations, we could also potentially see even more good games in Tucson for NCAA Regionals and maybe even Super Regionals.

Tough Road Tests Highlight Wildcats Schedules

While the home slate provides for some great opportunities to see some great matchups at home, the road is where Arizona will need to make some noise if they want to be truly considered among the best in the Pac-12 in 2021.

The Wildcats’ road slate opens up at the Frisco College Baseball Classic where they take on Oklahoma, Dallas Baptist, and Missouri.

Their Pac-12 opener then sends our Cats to Los Angeles to take on No. 2 UCLA at Jackie Robinson Field.

The other non-conference matchups are with Loyola Marymount while on their LA trip, then they will visit Grand Canyon on April 13, and will also have a matchup against Santa Clara following a series with Stanford.

In addition to UCLA, the conference road schedule includes games against Arizona State, Washington State, Stanford, and Oregon State.
