With the Arizona Basketball program in full swing for the off-season, the drama continues as the Wildcats must release their Notice of Allegations.

Just as we finally reach the Arizona Basketball offseason, it should be a long, busy, and drama-filled next couple of months for the Wildcats.

Over the coming weeks, Athletic Director Dave Heeke, and University President Dr. Robert Robbins will weigh in on Sean Millers’ future with the program (he currently has just one year left in his contract). However, the school will now have to release the NCAA’s Notice of Allegations and battle the ensuing scrutiny and backlash.

Making news on Wednesday afternoon, the Arizona Daily Star announced that a judge with the Arizona Superior Court has sided with ESPN in forcing the school to release the Notice of Allegations.

For those that have been kept in the dark, ESPN sued the University of Arizona and the Arizona Board of Regents just a couple of weeks ago regarding the matter, which now brings us to here.

As you may recall, the Wildcats were dealt several, Level One allegations, all of which were seemingly tied to the Wildcats’ “refusal” to speak and cooperate with the NCAA during their investigation, a Lack of Institutional Control, and a failure to Monitor and Self-Report.

As we all should be aware by now, it is that the University decided to appeal the allegations, instead going through the Independent Accountability Resolution Process (IARP). We are still awaiting a response from by the way.

Arizona Basketball will likely face a National Media frenzy once they finally release the Notice of Allegations.

With the recent ruling, the Arizona Athletics Public Relations team will have to ramp up their spin machine to tamper what will likely be a whirlwind of backlash from the National Media. After all, this is the same media that has not gone after Louisville, Kansas, USC, etc. with the same ferocity and fervor as Arizona.

For the Wildcats, the ruling is unfortunate, but at least it will get everything out in the open and will leave no doubt for those looking for transparency.

In the coming weeks, we will see how things play out along with the likely overreaction from the media, fans, or others of that ilk.
