Arizona Basketball to host TyTy Washington on virtual visit
With Arizona Basketball right in the thick on their off-season, the focus shifts towards building for the future as they will host 2021 guard, TyTy Washington.
It is going to be a busy off-season for the Arizona Basketball team, and with the 2020-21 season officially over for the Wildcats, the focus now turns to recruiting, and it appears 2021 guard TyTy Washington is going to be a target moving forward.
And just in case you thought Sean Miller and the Wildcats were done recruiting, you are wrong because this group is very much still going.
Arizona Wildcats
That was all confirmed on Thursday evening, as it was via social media that the Wildcats will host Arizona-based guard, Washington on Friday where he will tour the campus (virtually) and will meet with Miller.
A former Creighton commit in the class of 2021, Washington de-committed from the Bluejays on Thursday afternoon, and already he is lining up his visits elsewhere.
Ranked as a high four-star, borderline five-star recruit in the class, TyTy is a standout guard from Compass Prep (Chandler, AZ) coming in at No. 30 overall in the recruiting class for 2021, and is the No. 2 player in the state of Arizona.
With James Akinjo potentially testing the NBA Draft, naturally, the Wildcats will be looking for a back-up point guard, since they don’t seem to have one in the class currently. However, his recruitment won’t be easy.
With offers from Auburn, Illinois, USC, and LSU among numerous others, Arizona Basketball will have a challenge on its hands with TyTy Washington.
Standing 6-feet-3-inches and 185 pounds, TyTy is a long and athletic guard with a solid frame and size. With the ability to add more strength, Washington is a bit of a combo guard being able to score and create/distribute well.
He has a good range that extends out to the three, possesses good, physical tools that allow him to finish around the rim, and has great vision to create plays for others.
TyTy is a kid with high upside and potential, and it should be interesting seeing how his recruitment plays out of the next few weeks or so.
Just watch his tape and you can see the potential.
