The addition is a solid one for Arizona Football, and even better, with a new coaching regime in Tucson, it appears Arizona is more serious in utilizing the Tight End position moving forward.
A standout three-star tight end in the class of 2020, the former Higley High School star from Gilbert, AZ committed to UNLV despite holding offers from Boise State, Utah, Iowa State, BYU, and Colorado among others.
Well, after just one season in Las Vegas, Alex Lines will be having a homecoming of sorts as he will now be playing with Arizona Football.
Seeing limited action with the Runnin’ Rebels this past season, coming in, Alex should have four years of eligibility left, and he will be a great compliment to current Arizona tight end, Bryce Wolma.
Standing a towering 6-feet-5-inches and 245-pounds, Alex is a big target with good hands that is able to create space, and the ability to use his size to create mismatches, especially across the middle.
While Alex may not have elite speed, he is nonetheless a talented pass catcher and run-blocker that should give the Wildcats another solid target.
With Arizona Football breaking in a few new quarterbacks this off-season, having more targets will be better for the Wildcats moving forward.
While it is hard to gauge just what kind of impact Alex will have next season, seeing the Wildcats find success on the recruiting is exciting to see.
