Spring Football is here and as the Arizona Football team makes early preparations for the 2021 season, the large roster turnover means next man up for the Wildcats.

Arizona Football is back in action, and that alone should excite Wildcat fans as we usher in a new era of Arizona Football, transitioning from the Kevin Sumlin years in which the Wildcats went just 9-20 from 2018-20.

Newly hired head coach Jedd Fisch has only been on the job for three months, and already he has done a tremendous job in getting this program back on the right track.

However, as we should all be aware by now, it is that this group has a long way to go in getting to where they need to be, and we shouldn’t expect immediate success either.

For starters, the Arizona Football roster is still a work in progress for 2021. We have already seen a mass exodus of players in recent weeks/ months, creating a lot of roster turnover and attrition.

Gone are numerous players from the previous era like Grant Gunnell, Bobby Wolfe, Ma’Jon Wright, Myles Tapusoa, Jalen Cochran, Kwabena Watson, and Derrion Clark among others.

While the losses are unfortunate and ultimately hurt the Wildcats from a depth perspective, it was to be expected with the coaching change.

With Arizona Football seeing a fluid and ever-changing situation with their 2021 roster, it is all about the next-man-up.

Luckily for us, we are still are a few months away until the start of the season, and that gives the Wildcats plenty of time to get guys ready and up-to-speed before taking the field.

Being so early in the preparation process, the benefit for Arizona is that they can have a full-on competition at most positions, and because of the roster attrition and turnover, guys will have to be ready to answer the call and step-up.
