Making more recruiting moves for 2021-22, Arizona Basketball has received a commitment from Eastern Washington transfer, Kim Aiken, Jr.

It has been a busy off-season for the Arizona Basketball team so far, and with not much happening in the recruiting world for the Wildcats, finally, there was some action as Eastern Washington wing Kim Aiken, Jr. has transferred to Arizona.

Breaking the news of his commitment via Social Media, Aiken picked the Wildcats over offers/interest from USC and Oregon among others.

Make no mistake, this is a big commitment for the Wildcats. As we have seen already, Arizona lost a few players from last year, and given the programs’ current standstill with Sean Miller’s contract situation, getting a graduate transfer will help with stability and at least provide another weapon for the Cats.

So now, for those of you that don’t know who Kim is, let us quickly introduce you…

He is a standout wing from Eastern Washington that nearly averaged a double-double last year for the Eagles with 11.3 points and 8.4 rebounds per game. He is also the former Big Sky Defensive Player of the Year.

Now just a redshirt junior, Kim will come to Tucson with immediate eligibility, and he should help supplement the losses of Jemarl Baker and Ira Lee.

At 6-feet-7-inches and 215 pounds, Kim is a long and athletic wing that fits the mold of the Wildcats perfectly, and his size and length help him to excel on the defensive end.

He rebounds well, can score at all three levels, and should provide immediate depth and talent for Arizona next season. The only issue is that with the commitment of Kim, he now puts the Wildcats over the 13-scholarship limit, and that’s assuming James Akinjo doesn’t come back, so Arizona could need some roster help very soon.

Either way, this is a solid addition for Arizona and we are excited to see Kim come to Tucson. Here is a preview of what we can perhaps see in McKale next season.
