After some time spent away from the league, former Wildcats Rondae Hollis-Jefferson has signed a 10-day contract with Portland.

It is always great seeing former Wildcats succeed in their post-Arizona careers, especially when one of those former Wildcats happens to be Rondae Hollis-Jefferson.

A beloved Wildcat that spent just two seasons in Tucson from 2013-15, Rondae went on to the NBA in hopes of finding success and putting the lowly city of Chester, PA map.

Being drafted No. 23rd overall in the 2015 NBA Draft by the Portland Trailblazers coincidentally enough, Rondae actually spent four rather productive seasons in Brooklyn before landing in Toronto, playing just one season with the Raptors.

Since then, Rondae has been just trying to find a home where he can excel, heck, things even looked promising for him too when he signed with Minnesota this off-season. Unfortunately for him, the Timberwolves parted ways just before the season, spoiling his chances of being with a team to start the year.

Well, after having spent some time away from the league, it looks like Rondae Hollis-Jefferson is finally getting another chance, having signed a 10-day contract with the Trailblazers of all teams.

The news of Rondae’s signing broke just days ago via social media, and naturally, we are excited for him to get a chance again.

Averaging 9.3 points and 5.6 rebounds per game for his career, it is hard to say what kind of role he will have in Portland or whether he will indeed excel, however, just seeing him get another opportunity is a great thing.

In his career, Rondae has proven to be a solid and deserving player, able to defend and rebound well. While he may not be an elite scorer, he does have some ability there, but given his strengths on the defensive end, he could provide a lot of value to a Portland team looking to finish the year strong.

In case you need a reminder of just how good he is, here are some of his highlights from Toronto!
