Already making moves in the recruiting class for 2022, and Arizona Basketball head coach Tommy Lloyd has added four-star center Dylan Anderson.

Just two days on the job, and Arizona Basketball head coach Tommy Lloyd is making his impact felt, as he and the Wildcats secured a commitment from four-star center, Dylan Anderson.

Making his announcement via social media, Dylan is the first player in the class of 2022 to commit to the Wildcats, and it is a big one!

Considered a four-star recruit in the class, Dylan ranks just inside the Top 50 nationally, he’s also the No. 7 center overall in the class, and is the No. 2 ranked player in the state.

Picking Arizona over offers from Creighton, ASU, North Carolina, Kansas, and even Gonzaga, this is one hell of a pick-up for Lloyd and the Wildcats. Dylan already had an established relationship with coach Lloyd, and with the recent coaching change for Arizona, Dylan felt comfortable in committing.

For those that don’t know who Dylan is, he is the massive 7-foot, 215-pound big man that hails from Perry High School from just up the road in Gilbert, AZ. He comes in with a lot of upside and potential, and is a great start to the Lloyd era in Tucson.

So what can we expect from Dylan Anderson and how does he fit with Arizona Basketball?

Well, with Lloyd yet to have coached a single game for Arizona, it is hard to say exactly which type of offense/defense he will run, but we have to think it is going to look very similar to Gonzaga. That means, length, athleticism, strong guard play, and tough defense.

With the addition of Anderson, he fits the mold of what I imagine Lloyd wants to do long-term. He lengthy, has great presence down low, but also can extend out a bit to knock down the jumper. He rebounds well, plays above the rim and shows nice footwork!

Where he will need to improve is in the weight room. He is a bit thin, but luckily, there is a lot of time until he’s on campus, so he will naturally fill out and get bigger.

Just see for yourself!
