Continuing to put in work on the recruiting trail, head coach Tommy Lloyd and Arizona Basketball put the focus on TyTy Washington for the class of 2021.

Tommy Lloyd has been on the job for just a few days now and already the Arizona Basketball team is seeing recruiting wins, especially with the class of 2021 four-star point guard, TyTy Washington.

Recently de-committing from Creighton, former head coach Sean Miller was in heavy pursuit of Washington, but now with the recent head coaching change, the pursuit of Washington hasn’t changed for Arizona, especially with Kerr Kriisa and James Akinjo in the transfer portal.

A four-star prospect, TyTy is the standout point guard from AZ Compass Prep School in Chandler, AZ, and he’s considered to be a Top 35 prospect in the class. He is also the No. 2 player in the state of Arizona.

With offers from virtually every major program in the country, this recruitment has a lot of competition, but luckily for us, it looks like the Wildcats are doing fairly well so far.

The 2021 guard took to social media on Saturday afternoon to cut his list of schools to six, and on his list are our Wildcats. Also featured were; Kentucky, Kansas, Oregon, LSU, and Baylor.

It is worth mentioning that the Wildcats could still have some work cut out for themselves here, but buying themselves time isn’t a bad thing, and you have to think with the potential transfers of Kriisa and Akinjo, the Wildcats are selling him on the idea of starting and playing just about 100 miles from home.

Scouting Report:

Standing 6-feet-3-inches and 185 pounds, TyTy is a sturdy point guard with good size and length with great athleticism. With his frame, he can continue to add strength and get bigger.

He is more of a combo guard, possessing the ability to score and finish at all three levels, he is also able to distribute the ball and create on the offensive end.

Defensively, he is solid as well, and given his size and physical tools, he does well there and can defend multiple positions.

Just watch what he can do!
