After previously signing a 10-day contract with the Portland Trailblazers, ex-Wildcat Rondae Hollis-Jefferson signed a contract for the remainder of the season.

It is great seeing former Wildcats succeed in their post-Arizona Basketball careers, especially when one of those former Cats happens to be Rondae Hollis-Jefferson.

A beloved and fun-loving kid from Chester, PA, if you may recall, Rondae signed a 10-day contract with the Portland Trailblazers a couple of weeks ago, and despite having seen limited action thus far, the Trailblazers seemed satisfied with Rondae as they signed him to an extension for the remainder of the season.

The news of Rondae’s signing was announced via social media on Tuesday evening, and we are certainly excited for him.

Rondae Hollis-Jefferson’s signing with the Trailblazers will help Portland down the stretch of the NBA season.

Since joining the league in 2015, Rondae has shown his value as a lockdown defender and solid role player, averaging 9.2 points and 5.6 rebounds through 299 games with the Brooklyn Nets, the Toronto Raptors, and now the Portland Trailblazers.

However, coming into the season, it was rather baffling that Rondae hadn’t landed with a team after briefly appearing with the Minnesota Timberwolves in the preseason.

Well, luckily for Rondae, he has found a new home in Portland as the savvy and talented NBA veteran is averaging 3.4 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 1.6 assists per game through five games.

As Rondae continues to get acclimated in Portland after not having played in an official NBA game since August 14, I imagine his role will get even bigger with the NBA Playoffs just around the corner.

As it stands, the Trailblazers currently sit in 7th place in the Western Conference Standings with only 11 games to play and having veteran players like Rondae that have playoff experience could very well come in handy.

We are happy for Rondae and can’t wait to see what his future holds in Portland.
