Still in the early parts of the Tommy Lloyd era in Tucson, and Arizona Basketball continues to go through more changes as big man Jordan Brown enters the transfer portal.

Change is never easy, and as Arizona Basketball has officially transitioned to the Tommy Lloyd era in Tucson, change is going to continue to happen that won’t be particularly easy to swallow, especially with the transfer of Jordan Brown.

Following a terrific season in which the former five-star big man and Nevada transfer won the Pac-12 Conferences’ ‘Sixth Man of the Year’ Award, Brown has officially put his name in the transfer portal.

The news of Brown’s transfer broke via social media on Monday evening, and this is a recent roster move that hurts the Wildcats a lot.

Brown had a fairly large impact with the Cats last season, averaging 9.4 points and 5.2 rebounds, and coming into 2021-22, it seemed like he would potentially have a fairly large role again. However, with the return of Christian Koloko and the addition of Gonzaga big man transfer Oumar Ballo, naturally, it seems like Brown is going to go somewhere where he can get more minutes.

So with the transfer of Jordan Brown, he becomes the seventh player to leave Arizona Basketball since the transition from Sean Miller to Tommy Lloyd.

So where does Arizona go from here? Well, with Brown’s transfer, Arizona now has five open scholarship spots on the 2021-22 roster, and Lloyd will have his work cut out for him as he tries to fill out the roster.

As it stands, the Wildcats will need another guard or two to replace the departures of Jemarl Baker, Jr. and James Akinjo, but now it seems they may need another forward to compliment and spell Azoulas Tubelis.

At Zona Zealots, we would like to wish Jordan the best as he opens the next chapter of his life!
