In the midst of a busy off-season, Arizona Basketball will look to make a final push as in-state guard TyTy Washington sets his decision date.

We’re getting closer and closer to a decision for 2021 guard TyTy Washington as the highly touted in-state guard will pick between Arizona Basketball and a handful of other suitors in the coming weeks.

Making the announcement via social media, Washington said he will be committing on May 15, and now we wait for his decision.

Since transitioning to the Tommy Lloyd era in Tucson, the Wildcats have already undergone numerous changes, and they are still making some significant pushes along the recruiting front, most namely with Washington.

As Arizona Basketball looks to replace James Akinjo, naturally TyTy Washington is the major focus for the Wildcats moving forward.

Now rated as a five-star guard in the class, Washington is considered to be a Top 30 player nationally and is also the No. 2 overall player in the state of Arizona. He holds over 30 offers and can choose from virtually any school in the country.

However, just a couple of weeks ago, the Compass Prep standout narrowed his list of schools to just six, with Arizona squarely in the thick of it.

As the Wildcats approach crunch time in this recruitment, look for Lloyd and the Wildcats to put on the full-court press. Already, it has been said that Lloyd FaceTime’s TyTy at least twice a day.

To me, he is the quintessential piece for this roster and class moving forward, and his addition could still make the Wildcats a competitive group in 2021-22.

He is a dynamic, 6-foot-3-inch guard with good length and athleticism that can score at all three levels and can finish around the bucket. TyTy can create and facilitate, and with the core of talent Arizona is returning, and you can see why he is a must-get for Arizona.

Here’s a reminder of just how special this kid is!
