Arizona Football adds Wisconsin transfer Malik Reed
With months to go until the start of the Arizona Football season, and the Wildcats have added another piece for 2021 in Wisconsin transfer, Malik Reed.
It has been a rather fortuitous off-season for Arizona Football and newly hired head coach Jedd Fisch, and that has not been more evident than with the recent addition of Wisconsin linebacker transfer, Malik Reed.
A former standout at Chandler High School from just up the road, Malik initially committed to the Badgers just out of high school last year, and after one season, the Arizona native is on the move, making the journey back “home”.

Announcing his transfer from Wisconsin just days prior, Reed took to social media on Tuesday afternoon to announce his commitment to the Wildcats, and for us, it is a big one!
Aside from having immediate eligibility and essentially four years to play, Malik is a former three-star Inside Linebacker from the class of 2020 that was ranked as the No. 654 player overall nationally. He was also the No. 16 overall player from a deep class in the state of Arizona for 2020 as well!
Standing a sturdy 6-feet-2-inches and weighing roughly 220 pounds, he has ideal size for the Pac-12, and given Arizona’s needs defensively, adding more talent and depth is not a bad thing by any means.
Granted, Malik hasn’t logged any playing time thus far, so the verdict is still out there for this young man, however, the talent is there, and as we all saw over the past couple of years in Tucson, the Wildcats need talent in the worst way.
Malik comes from the talented Chandler High School where he finished the year with 92 tackles (21 solo), three sacks, and a forced fumble en route to a 13-0 finish and State Championship according to Maxpreps.
With his transfer to Arizona, he will also have a reunion of sorts, as fellow Chandler standouts and current Wildcats Gunner Maldonado and Drake Anderson transferred into the program just a few months ago.
In case you need more proof as to the special kind of talent that the Wildcats are adding here, just take a look at Malik’s senior tape!
