Not long after putting his name into the transfer portal, Utah guard Pelle Larsson has officially committed to Arizona Basketball.

The 2021-22 Arizona Basketball roster is beginning to take form, and with months to go until the start of the season, Tommy Lloyd and the Wildcats have added another piece to the team with the commitment of Utah transfer Pelle Larsson.

While the Wildcats have been going through some changes here in Tucson, up in Salt Lake City, the Utes have been going through some changes as well, as they replaced longtime head coach Larry Krystkowiak.

While the move was shocking, the coaching change has seemingly benefited the Wildcats here, as Larsson entered his name into the transfer portal not long after the coaching change.

Luckily for us, it didn’t take him long to make his announcement, officially committing to the Wildcats via social media on Mother’s Day, and this is a solid pick up for Arizona.

So what is Arizona Basketball getting with the addition of Utah transfer Pelle Larson?

A Swedish guard that stands 6-feet-5-inches and over 205 pounds, Pelle is a lengthy and athletic sharp-shooting guard that is coming off a very solid freshman season where he started in 18 out of 25 games averaging 8.2 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 2.8 assists per game, meanwhile hitting nearly 47 percent from three

That kind of production will be greatly welcomed this next season as the Wildcats transition to the Lloyd era, and as we’ve also seen over the years, you can never have enough elite shooters. Luckily for us, Pelle seems to check all those boxes, and more importantly, he gives the Wildcats more depth and talent at guard.

While I feel Arizona still needs at least another point guard, bringing in Pelle is a nice addition, plus he has a few years of eligibility left.

Here is just a little preview of what we could from Larsson with the Cats next season.
