Arizona Football has picked up another commitment for 2021 as the Wildcats have added Vanderbilt linebacker transfer, Kenny Hebert.

If you have been following Arizona Football this off-season, you would see that Jedd Fisch and the Wildcats are staying busy as they continue to hit the recruiting trail hard and make efforts to retool the roster. Well once again, the hard work has paid off as Arizona has added yet another transfer for 2021, this time it is Vanderbilt linebacker, Kenny Hebert.

Originally an outside linebacker that spent four years in Nashville, after seeing limited action in 2020, the linebacker entered the transfer portal this off-season, and to our benefit, he is coming to Tucson.

Making his announcement known via social media, the New Orleans native committed to the Wildcats on Wednesday afternoon, and this is a solid addition for Arizona.

Coming into the season, we all know that Arizona Football needed to significantly improve on defense, and by adding Kenny Hebert, the Wildcats should be a deeper group.

Kenny comes to Tucson as a graduate senior that will have one year of eligibility left, and his addition alone will provide immediate depth and talent for the Wildcats.

He joins join Bowling Green State graduate transfer Jerry Roberts, and with their additions, Arizona suddenly looks a lot better at linebacker. Plus, it also gives Defensive Coordinator Don Brown more weapons.

A big and sturdy kid, Kenny stands an impressive 6-feet-4-inches and over 230 pounds, and his size should give the Wildcats a bit of versatility in the new defense.

He most likely will play as an outside linebacker for the Wildcats, and I could very well see him being used as an edge rusher as well.

Through 21 games, Kenny has 53 tackles (32 solo), 12.0 tackles for loss, 6.0 sacks, three pass deflections, and a forced fumble. Unfortunately for him, he just hasn’t been given too many opportunities, however, perhaps a change of scenery will suit him well.

Here is a little preview of what the Wildcats can possibly expect from Kenny next year!
