Just ahead of the 2021 Arizona Football season, CBS ranked the Top Coaches in from the Power Five Conferences and has put Jedd Fisch near the bottom.

The Arizona Football season is quickly approaching, and while we are still just a few months away, CBS ranked all 65 coaches in the Power Five Conferences just days ago, where head coach Jedd Fisch made his debut on the list.

Coming in at No. 64 on the list, Fisch ranks just ahead of South Carolina head coach Shane Beamer at No. 65 (who has never been a head coach), and just behind Vanderbilt’s Clark Lea, who also has never been a head coach.

Seems reasonable considering you cannot justifiably rank a head coach too high, especially when they don’t have any head coaching experience. And while these kinds of rankings are always interesting, it is also wise to not put much stock into them.

At the end of the day, results matter, and Fisch will just have to use this as motivation to prove why he belongs.

The belief is he can quickly rise on this list, and we will see just what kind of coaching ability he has over the next season or so. Luckily for us, he has assembled a terrific staff in Tucson so far, and one that should be competitive in the Pac-12.

If Fisch is going to be successful in Tucson, he is going to have to continue to change the culture at Arizona as well as focus on development. Should he do that, Arizona can easily return to some of the success that they saw under Rich Rodriguez, if not perhaps even surpass that.

Here is how the other Pac-12 coaches rank in the Top 65:

No. 14 – Kyle Whittingham (Utah)

No. 16 – Mario Cristobal (Oregon)

No. 21 – Herm Edwards (ASU)

No. 24 – David Shaw (Stanford)

No. 38 – Justin Wilcox (Cal)

No. 39 – Chip Kelly (UCLA)

No. 48 – Clay Helton (USC)

No. 51 – Jimmy Lake (UW)

No. 54 – Karl Dorrell (Colorado)

No. 56 – Jonathan Smith (OSU)

No. 58 – Nick Rolovich (Wazzu)
