With the Arizona Basketball roster continuing to take form for next season, the Wildcats have added Georgia guard transfer, Justin Kier for 2021-22.

As the month’s pass, we are getting closer and closer to the start of Arizona Basketball season and officially kicking off the Tommy Lloyd era in Tucson. However, as the team continues to take form, the Wildcats have added another piece for 2021-22 in incoming transfer guard, Justin Kier.

Over the past couple of weeks, it was apparent that the Wildcats needed another guard, and it appears that they wasted no time in getting one, as Justin is another transfer that is joining the Wildcats.

A solid role player while at Georgia, he is a sixth-year graduate senior (he has another year of eligibility because of Covid) that comes in after averaging 9.5 points, 3.7 rebounds, 2.4 assists, and 1.7 steals in 25 games with the Bulldogs. Kier also shot 36.6 percent from the three-point line.

The news of Kier’s addition broke via social media on Wednesday afternoon, and he comes to Tucson as a graduate senior after having put his name into the transfer portal this off-season.

Standing an impressive 6-feet-4-inches and 190 pounds, Justin reportedly drew interest from Oklahoma, Utah, and Marquette among others before ultimately picking the Cats.

With Justin Kier giving Arizona Basketball immediate depth and talent, overall, this is a sensible and solid addition by coach Lloyd.

Look, there’s no getting around the fact that Arizona is maybe another year or two away until things become settled with the NCAA Investigation and Lloyd acclimates to being a head coach.

Arizona still needs an influx of depth and talent if they are to compete at a higher level next year, and adding Kier helps the Cats to accomplish some of those things.

The Wildcats are getting a solid athlete with good play-making ability that will also provide invaluable veteran, leadership experience.

Here’s just a little preview of what the Wildcats could expect from Justin!
