Continuing to add more pieces for the 2021 Arizona Football season, the Wildcats are bringing in New Mexico State linebacker, Rashie Hodge, Jr.

It has been roughly six months since Arizona Football head coach Jedd Fisch has been on the job, and already he has been on a terror, adding numerous pieces for 2021. His most recent addition is New Mexico State linebacker, Rashie Hodge, Jr.

Making news via social media on Wednesday afternoon, the former Aggies linebacker and Arizona native announced that he is transferring to the University of Arizona, and this is a solid addition for the Wildcats.

Considered to be a graduate senior, it appears that Hodge may walk on for the Cats and he should be immediately eligible to play for Arizona this coming season after opting to sit out the entire 2020 season.

Coming in, Fisch said he wanted to lock down the state of Arizona recruiting-wise, and it appears he has done just that as Rashie is a former standout linebacker from Glendale Community College and multiple-sport start at Mountain Pointe High School in Phoenix.

What Arizona Football is getting with the addition of New Mexico State linebacker Rashie Hodge, Jr.?

For starters, Rashie has the ideal size for a power five program linebacker. He stands an impressive 6-feet and 235 pounds and is coming off an impressive 2019 season in which he totaled 90 tackles (49 solo), with 10.0 tackles for loss, an interception, and two forced fumbles.

That kind of production will be greatly welcomed at Arizona given the Wildcats’ need on defense, and I fully expect him to compete for plenty of playing time and perhaps even a starting spot at linebacker this coming season.

On tape, Rashie is a relentless athlete that sees the ball well and attacks. He shows great vision and maintains good eye discipline as well. He uses his body well to shoot the gaps and create disruption in the backfield and is solid from sideline to sideline.

Just watch for yourself!
