The Section 7 Tournament features some of the best high school teams, and it gives the new Arizona Basketball staff a great chance to introduce themselves.

The gloves are officially off for Arizona Basketball and numerous Division One college basketball programs as they can resume normal recruiting activities. For the Wildcats, the Section 7 Tournament in Glendale is a great chance for the new staff to introduce themselves.

In case you didn’t know, the Section 7 Tournament was started as a way of serving the basketball community by giving more student-athletes with the hopes of playing collegiate basketball, a platform to showcase their skills.

However, for about the past year, recruiting has taken a significant downturn as several programs have had to deal with the recruiting restrictions due to the ongoing threat of the Covid pandemic. In the process, negatively impacting several high school hopefuls.

The tournament will allow for the coaches to get out in the public, talk to more kids, as well as allow for them to share and sell Lloyd and Arizona’s vision in the post-Sean Miller era.

For Arizona Basketball, the Section 7 Tournament restart gives a great opportunity for the new coaching staff to introduce itself.

Arizona Basketball head coach Tommy Lloyd has been on the job only but two months at this point, and the longtime, former Gonzaga assistant is very much getting acclimated to the job.

So far, he has assembled a terrific staff around him (retaining previous assistants Jack Murphy and Jason Terry), but as you may recall, Terry or Murphy didn’t get to do any face-to-face recruiting for the last year.

With this tournament, it allows for the coaches to get out in the public, talk to more kids, as well as allow for them to share and sell Lloyd and Arizona’s vision in the post-Sean Miller era.

A few players expected to be attendance in the Regional Tournament:
