Continuing to make progress in the recruiting class of 2022, the Arizona Football team picked up a commitment from three-star in-state DE Russell Davis II.

While we are still two months away from the start of the 2021 Arizona Football season, head coach Jedd Fisch continues to recruit well as he has now picked up a commitment from 2022 edge rusher, Russell Davis II.

Officially making his announcement via social media on Saturday morning, Davis will join fellow high school teammate and current Arizona commit, Grayson Stovall.

Becoming the ninth commitment in the class for the Wildcats, Arizona was wise to jump into this recruitment early as Davis picked Arizona over offers from Duke, Boston College, Iowa State, and Colorado State among others.

Jedd Fisch and Arizona Football continue to dominate recruiting in the state of Arizona with the commitment of Russell Davis II.

A three-star player in the class of 2022, Davis is a standout athlete from the talented Hamilton High School in Chandler, AZ and he comes in with a lot of potential.

Currently listed as the No. 22 overall player from the state, Davis stands an impressive 6-feet-3-inches and weighs about 215 pounds. To me, this is a kid that will continue to add weight as he matures and develops, and he gives the Wildcats another solid athlete for Defensive Coordinator Don Brown to use in several ways.

First off, he comes from a great lineage as his father Russell Davis Sr. spent seven seasons in the NFL and after being a former second-round pick in the 1999 NFL Draft.

For himself, it seems that athleticism and skill have been passed down. This past season with the Huskies, Davis recorded an impressive 13.5 sacks and 19 tackles for loss with 61 tackles (35 solo) according to Maxpreps.

He is a long athlete with good explosiveness on the line of scrimmage that could very be used in a hybrid Defensive End/ Linebacker role.

The commitment of Davis signals the continued aggressive recruiting style in the state of Arizona by coach Fisch, and this is surely a welcomed addition for the Wildcats.
