In the midst of a busy off-season, Arizona Volley head coach Dave Rubio has added a potential star for 2021 in hitter/setter, Puk Stubbe.

It’s not often that you can add a potentially impactful player this late in the 2021 recruiting cycle, however, Arizona Volleyball head coach Dave Rubio has struck again in Europe, this time in the Netherlands by adding Dutch hitter/setter in Puk Stubbe.

A student-athlete with top flight international credentials, Puk is a versatile Dutch attacker and is a perfect piece to coach Rubio’s 2021 recruiting class.

Largely seeing her most elite experience being on the sand, Stubbe brings a wealth of international experience to the Arizona Volleyball program, including going up against some of the top beach players in the world including the No. 1 American team in April Ross and Alix Klineman, who are expected to be high on the podium in Tokyo in a few short weeks.

On top of her experience against some of the top beach talent in the world, Puk has played in the Dutch National Top Division, the Eredivisie in the indoor game for VollinGo.

While not yet a member of the senior Women’s National team, the Netherlands is considered to be a perennial Top 10 program internationally, and her exposure to the Dutch program as a member of the junior national team will only boost the competition for spots on the Wildcats.

Having already seen the impact of European players provided in the spring with Merle Weidt (Germany), and Dilara Gedikoglu (Turkey), adding Stubbe provides yet another player that’s been exposed to the pro game in Europe, helping to give the Wildcats a leg up as they look to return to the NCAA Tournament in 2021.

After watching Weidt become a key reserve, and Gedikoglu become a reliable key to the rotation, the addition of Stubbe should be a very intriguing and exciting piece for the Wildcats, and caps off yet another strong recruiting class for Dave Rubio.
