Breaking Down in-state recruiting for Arizona Football for 2022
Arizona Football head coach Jedd Fisch and the Wildcats have been on a roll on the recruiting trail so far, so we break down their in-state recruiting.
Jedd Fisch has only been the head coach with Arizona Football for just seven months, and already the first-time head coach is making his presence felt.
Not only is he fundamentally changing the culture and perception of Arizona Football, but the Wildcat head coach has also been working hard to increasing the level of talent and depth in Tucson.

In his introductory press conference, Fisch said he wanted to prioritize the state of Arizona in recruiting, and so far he has lived up to his word.
Bringing in transfers like Drake Anderson, Gunner Cruz, Gunner Maldonado, and Jason Harris who all hail from the state of Arizona, however, the in-state recruiting success hasn’t stopped there.
In 2022, as the Wildcats have accumulated 13 commits in the class so far, four of those committed players have come from the Grand Canyon State (Isaiah Johnson, Russell Davis II, Grayson Stovall, and Tristan Monday).
More impressive is that all four commitments have come from Chandler Hamilton, Hamilton, and Saguaro, all high schools that traditionally the Wildcats have not recruited well at.
With Jedd Fisch and Arizona Football recruiting the state of Arizona well so far, the focus will remain on recruiting the state to close out the class of 2022.
With just 13 commitments for 2022, things are far from over for the Wildcats, and already we’ve highlighted a few players that Arizona is doing well with.
However, while the Wildcats are still going to recruit at a national level, there are still a few key targets in the state of Arizona that the Wildcats are recruiting.
Here are a few players left that the Wildcats offered for 2022:
- Quaron Adams – RB (Chandler, AZ) – 5’8″ 150 lbs.
- Shakaun Bowser – LB (Queen Creek, AZ) – 6’4” 225 lbs.
- Daniel Santiago – DL (Scottsdale, AZ) – 6’2” 288 lbs.
