WEST HOLLYWOOD, CA – Appearing in his Pac-12 Media Day, these are the major takeaways from Arizona Football head coach Jedd Fisch and the Wildcats.

The 2021 Arizona Football season is just around the corner and as fall camp is about to start for the conference, we first needed to get through the Pac-12 Media Day.

Already, we previewed just days ago that head coach Jedd Fisch would be accompanied by Stanley Berryhill III and Anthony Pandy for the conferences’ annual media day.

Returning in-person for the first time since 2019, the press conference lasted about 30 minutes, and the trio of Wildcats fielded a myriad of questions. Everything relating to the upcoming season to adjusting to the Fisch era of Arizona Football among other things, it gave media and fans a preview into the Wildcats in the post-Kevin Sumlin era.

Flanked by Stanley Berryhill III and Anthony Pandy, Jedd Fisch and Co. previewed Arizona Football, and these were the major takeaways.

New Uniforms:

Already we hinted at the idea that Arizona Football could be returning to a more vintage look this season, and while it still hasn’t officially been confirmed, head coach Jedd Fisch did seem to hint at the idea.

"“Yeah, I think I’m going to tell you the same thing I tell the recruits: Don’t worry about the uniforms. We got to play well. Hopefully, these uniforms will look good on them. I think everybody will be happy with the way they look. But I do believe in tradition. I do believe in basics. I believe in being able to wear the same helmet for every game.”"

Arizona Football is going to be like a party:

For a while now, the Arizona Football games have been needing a bit of a spark to the overall fan experience and atmosphere. Coach Fisch seems to already have some ideas in how he is going to help improve that.

"“We’re going incorporate a little bit more of a party atmosphere. I really believe it should be the best four-hour party. That’s what college football is… We need to find a way to get a party atmosphere back. We’re going to bring a deejay right in the heart of the ZonaZoo. We’re going to make it as much fun as humanly possible.”"

Bringing joy to Arizona Football:

Arizona has been in desperate need of a culture change, and with a program that is riding a current 12-game losing streak, Fisch has done wonders to make Arizona Football fun and joyous again.

"“Actually, I want to give some credit there to Steve Kerr, another Arizona Wildcat. Anybody that’s done any research and read or listened to any podcasts that Steve has done, one of the four values of the Golden State Warriors is joy.I’ve done a lot of research in my past. I always felt like if I ever had a chance to build my own program, joy was going to surround it.”"

Arizona Football being picked last:

Expectations for Arizona are low and understandably so, especially as the program is coming off a winless season and 12-straight losses, coach Fisch is working to hopefully prove some of those doubters wrong.

"“We’ll just have to go out there and play really well and see what happens. That’s just on past performances. No one’s seen our team.”"

Overall, it was a great introductory press conference for coach Fisch and the Wildcats, and we cannot wait to see how the Wildcats perform this season.
