Arizona Football alumni Khalil Tate and Devaughn Cooper make a splash in the new game show “Talk Yo Shit” in a 1v1 football game where you get points doing different things.

It’s been a little while since the loveable former Arizona Football players Khalil Tate and Devaughn Cooper teamed up, but the two reunited for the premiere episode of the football version of a new show on YouTube called “Talk Yo Shit.”

The premise of the game is that a guest quarterback and wide receiver team up against the host of the show which is a defensive/cornerback. The show’s host is Ahsante Smith, a University of Dubuque defensive back.

The show’s Producer and Editor is Akili Tate who also goes by his production company name Kelly Flicks. Akili is Khalil Tate’s big brother got his start in production with ‘In The Front Row’ while playing wide receiver for Hiram University.

Just a few months ago, Akili was granted a union card for the Local 600 International Cinematographers Guild and is currently working in Television along with producing and staring in the LaceUp Podcast on Spotify (there are 48 episodes). In addition to that, he is running a 7-on-7 adult football league.

Khalil reached out to former Arizona wide receiver Devaughn Cooper who wrapped up his second eligible season at UTEP.

Cooper shares a high school alma mater, Narbonne High School, with Arizona’s current team captain Anthony Pandy. He reminisced with the crew on the double-overtime win over his team in his senior season by Serra High School led by Khalil Tate. The loss crushed him at the time, but he got a taste of how exciting playing with Tate at Arizona was going to be. Tate didn’t disappoint either, when they connected on a pass, it seemed meant to be.

The head official for the game was Ed Morgan. President of Premium Sports, Morgan helped kickstart the program in Los Angeles, which runs High School camps, training and college tours with top-rated high school football players.

He is also a partner in Premium Sports Kicks, a new unique apparel store in Los Angeles who will soon be hosting a freestyle for lyricists.

Now, the rules for each Talk Yo Shit game are simple, and they include points for scoring, defense, and of course shit talking. I got the idea after watching years of Drew League basketball, and realizing what I enjoyed most was all the talking between players, referees, and fans. So we recreated that in a 1-on-1 football game.

Everything is explained on https://TalkYoShit.com, there is a fashion element as well. Here are the battle rules:

THE GAME:

  • There are 10 reps: 1-on-1 Defensive Back  vs. Wide Receiver.
  • One guest Quarterback.
  • Each player can bring up to two fans to help get Shit Talking points.
  • Head Official officiates the game and the Shit Talking.

SCORING:
Points                Offense                                               Defense
1 point               Great Route.                                       Deflection
2 points             Catch                                                  “Sack” (Time Expires)
3 points             Touchdown/ Spectacular Catch    Interception

Shit Talking

  • Overall score on a 1-10 scale added to skill point total
  • ABSOLUTELY NO MOMMA OR FAMILY JOKES!!
  • 1 point is deducted if Ref thinks the shit-talking is in bad taste.

Have fun and enjoy Episode 1, who do you think won?:
