Don Brown impressed with defensive progress for Arizona Football
With Fall Camp well underway for Arizona Football, defensive coordinator Don Brown is impressed with the progress of the defense so far.
Football action resumed for Arizona Football on Friday evening as the Wildcats broke out the pads for the first time in fall camp.
With the action heating, so far, it has been a pretty eventful camp as the Wildcats have had to break in several new players and coaches, all with the hopes of getting this squad ready for their match-up with BYU.

Coming into fall camp, a lot has been built around how the Wildcats will be at quarterback, and who will ultimately separate themselves at the position. However, a lot has also been built on the Wildcats’ defense as well.
A group that has seemingly struggled for quite some time now, Arizona Football is drastically trying to improve and change this group.
For starters, Arizona brought in several talented transfers over the past couple of months who should vastly improve the overall depth and talent of the roster. But in addition to the roster moves, the Wildcats also added legendary defensive coordinator, Don Brown.
On paper, this group should be significantly better, but prior to fall starting, we just didn’t know what we have. And to some degree, we still don’t know what this group looks like until they actually take to the field.
However, from early indications and directly hearing from coach Brown, this is a group that is quickly progressing in fall camp.
Following the teams’ full practice in pads on Thursday evening, Brown raved about the Wildcats’ defense. “If I didn’t like it, I’d tell you. Very pleased,” he said.
He later went on to say how he was pleased about the teams’ overall effort and aggressiveness. “I thought we ran our *rear ends* to the ball tonight.”
