With the 2021 Arizona Football season just around the corner, Jedd Fisch and the Wildcats have given scholarships to three defensive walk-ons.

It was a day of celebration for Arizona Football and the Wildcats! Just before the Cats took to the practice field to take part in their morning practice, head coach Jedd Fisch surprised the team by announcing a pool day.

Canceling practice and opting for the team to head to the Student Recreation Center instead, the change in scenery and schedule received a warm welcome among the players as the Wildcats enjoyed a bit of fun on Wednesday morning.

However, that wasn’t the biggest story coming out of the Arizona Football program today. No, in fact, as the Wildcats reconvened for a team meeting later that afternoon, coach Fisch addressed the team with the intention of growing the Wildcats’ roster.

Standing center stage with the image of LeBron James with the words decision behind him, Jedd Fisch and Arizona Football gave scholarships to three walk-ons.

Addressing the team to announce that walk-on’s Rourke FreeburgJaydin Young, and Treydan Stukes would all be receiving scholarships, Fisch even tied in the ‘LeBron James Decision’ theme.

Since all three players never got to truly experience signing day, Fisch set up a table with scholarship papers and hats for Freeburg, Young, and Stukes, imitating the National Signing Day experience to commemorate their “promotion”.

All three are expected to contribute to Arizona’s defense this season in some capacity this season as Young is a second-year free safety that has steadily been making headlines in fall camp.

As for Stukes, he has projects to be a backup cornerback while Freeburg will have another opportunity to log minutes at linebacker this season.
