Arizona Basketball guard Pelle Larsson has a broken foot
With the 2021-22 Arizona Basketball season around the corner, the Wildcats have suffered their first setback as Pelle Larsson has a broken foot.
Arizona Basketball is nearly here and while there is plenty of optimism heading into Tommy Lloyd’s first season as head coach, the Wildcats have suffered their first setback with the injury of Pelle Larsson.
The transfer guard enters the year with plenty of hype, especially after coming off a solid freshman campaign while at Utah as he averaged 8.2 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 2.8 assists per game all while shooting 46.3 percent from three.
However, the only thing is that he may not be immediately available. As we all learned just days ago, it is that Larsson has broken a bone in his foot, and there is no immediate timeline for his return.
The hope is that with the season still about two months away, he will be ready by then, but with little known at this point, we will just have to wait and see.
When healthy, Pelle Larsson is going to have a big impact with Arizona Basketball and will be a part of the rotation of guards used.
At Utah, we only saw a little bit from Larsson, however, the upside is there. He is a smart and heady guard with great length and size. He plays at a high level, understands the game well, and could be one of the better players for the Wildcats this season!
Arizona unofficially opens the 2021-22 season on Oct. 2 with the Red-Blue scrimmage, while the regular-season opener is Nov. 9 vs. NAU.
This Wildcat team isn’t drawing the hype it normally does as some have picked the Wildcats to finish in the bottom half of the conference, however, with the continued development of Azuolas Tubelis, Bennedict Mathurin, and Dalen Terry as well as the addition of Larsson and others, this team could be a surprise!
Here’s to hoping Pelle gets healthy quickly!
