Arizona Basketball and Tommy Lloyd staying aggressive in recruiting
Making progress in the recruiting class for 2022 and beyond, Arizona Basketball and Tommy Lloyd are staying aggressive on the recruiting trail.
The 2021-22 Arizona Basketball season is nearly here, and while the focus will mostly be on the start of the upcoming season the next few weeks, however, Arizona head coach Tommy Lloyd and the Wildcats are staying aggressive on the recruiting trail for 2022 and beyond.
After being on the job just a few months now, coach Lloyd is finally starting to see progress for the class of 2022, as the Wildcats seem to potentially be closing in on a couple of high-profile recruits.
Making news on Thursday afternoon, the Wildcats were been named a finalist for 5-star Florida-area point guard, Jaden Bradley.
Joining Kentucky, Alabama, Florida State, and Gonzaga in his top list of schools, the No. 14 overall recruit in the class is closing in on a decision, and the Wildcats have to at least like that they are still around in this one.
Jaden is a 6-foot-3 point guard with big game and playmaking ability. He has good size and length, athleticism, and explosiveness. Bradley is one of the top prospects in the country for a reason, and the Wildcats still being in this recruitment is a good thing!
However, the good news didn’t end there! Also making news on Thursday afternoon was that 5-star shooting guard Shaedon Sharpe will take his official visit to the Arizona campus this weekend, after previously visiting Kentucky.
Shaedon hails from Kansas, however, he currently plays for Dream City Christian in Glendale, Ariz. Rated as the No. 4 overall player in the class, he is a high priority for the Wildcats, and just getting him to officially visit is a big deal.
Arizona Basketball was able to recruit well under Sean Miller, however, current head coach Tommy Lloyd is beginning to hit the trail hard.
These past couple of months have been hard to evaluate Lloyd’s recruiting prowess, because he is essentially coming into some of these recruitments late, and also because Arizona is likely still feeling some effects of the ongoing Independent Accountability Resolution Process with the NCAA.
Recruiting takes time and building relationships matters. Any judgments up to this point are a bit premature and shortsighted.
Either way, seeing Arizona be aggressive on the recruiting trail is a good thing to see! Let’s just hope Lloyd and the Wildcats can close out on some of these recruitments.
