The 2021 Arizona Football season is nearly here, and while the Wildcats kick-off next week, captains have been picked and Stanley Berryhill III gets the No. 1 jersey.

We’re getting closer and closer to the start of the Arizona Football season, and as the Wildcats prepare for their big-time match-up against BYU in Las Vegas next week, a few more roster details have now been settled.

Making news on Friday, the Wildcats finally announced their six captains for the 2021 season, all of which are veteran players.

Naming offensive lineman Josh McCauley, wide receivers Stanley Berryhill III and Thomas Reid, defensive end Jalen Harris, linebacker Anthony Pandy, and kicker Lucas Havrisik as captains, these Wildcats are the perfect representation of this program.

A great move for the Wildcats as all are expected to have big roles with Arizona Football this season, the interesting thing to note here is the adversity all these guys have faced.

For those that maybe don’t know, for each of these captains, this will be their third head coach at Arizona, as all were recruited or added to the roster by former Wildcat head coach, Rich Rodriguez.

In addition to the captains being named, Jedd Fisch and Arizona Football also gave the coveted No. 1 jersey to Stanley Berryhill III.

All fall camp, beyond all the other major storylines dominating the headlines for Arizona Football, was who would get the coveted No. 1 jersey.

Leading to a strong battle in camp, there were plenty of strong contenders, however, as we all saw, there are not many players that are more important to the Wildcats than Stanley Berryhill III.

A former standout here in Tucson, Stanley walked on with the program in 2017, and since then has grown significantly. So much, that he was close to transferring to Ball State this past off-season before coach Fisch convinced Berryhill to come back this season.

After a successful fall camp and being named a captain of this team, rightfully, Stanley gets the No. 1 jersey for the 2021 season as we all learned on Friday as well!

Either way, things are heating up and we are excited about the quickly approaching season.
