The criticisms of Arizona Football have been loud since the Wildcats fell to 0-3, including a loss to NAU, and wide receiver Stanley Berryhill III uses those criticisms as motivation.

It has been a rough start for Arizona Football in 2021. Coming into the year, expectations were low of the Wildcats, however, even in the teams’ 0-3 start to the year, wide receiver Stanley Berryhill III has been one of the few bright spots for the Wildcats.

A former Tucson native and local football star turned walk-on, Berryhill has been beating the odds ever since coming to campus in 2017.

Earning a scholarship and eventual starting spot for the Wildcats, slowly, Berryhill has seen his role and impact increase, so much that he earned the No. 1 jersey and even became a captain of this team.

So far in the three Wildcat losses, Stanley has compiled 263 yards and a touchdown on 28 receptions. He leads the Wildcats in both yards and receptions.

However, despite the great start for Stanley Berryhill III, the star wide receiver isn’t satisfied and is fueled by the Cats’ lack of wins.

And following the loss on Saturday, Berryhill took to Twitter to express his motivation and focus, “Just keep your (head) down and go hard every opportunity you get it will all work out.”

Refreshing to see since even amidst Berryhill’s strong start to the season, his efforts are largely being overshadowed by the teams’ current 15-game losing streak (the nation’s longest active losing streak).

With Arizona starting the year 0-3, fans are frustrated, and understandably so. The Wildcats haven’t won a game in nearly two years, and they even hit a new low on Saturday after losing to previously winless NAU for the first time in 89 years.

However, with nine games left, Arizona has an opportunity to improve and begin to click as a team, but it is going to take everyone giving 100 percent and putting in the work, week in and week out. We just know Berryhill will be ready!
