Jordan McCloud looked decent against UCLA, but after suffering a rather serious leg injury, Arizona Football will need more answers at quarterback.

It was a good effort for three quarters last night, but after quarterback Jordan McCloud went down with a leg injury late in the game, Arizona Football fell to UCLA in Tucson, and now the Wildcats desperately needs more answers at quarterback… again.

Coming off a bye week, and a rather positive, but results mixed first game against Oregon, things even looked promising for Arizona with McCloud as the starting quarterback, as the former USF transfer started the game off with a 14-play, 65-yard drive that ended in a Tyler Loop field goal.

Their next series would go 12 plays for 47 yards, ending in another field goal, this time from Lucas Havrisik from 46 yards out to make it 7-6.

Things would get interesting in the second quarter when McCloud and the Wildcats would drive down just before halftime, ending the series with a double pass from Jamarye Joiner to running back Michael Wiley to make it 14-13.

However, a rough second half by Arizona Football would be highlighted with the leg injury to Jordan McCloud.

Trailing by just one point, Arizona would have a punchers chance in the second half, especially as the Wildcats hung around for the third quarter. However, things would take a turn for the worst in the fourth quarter.

Trailing 24-16 to start the quarter, McCloud and Arizona would have the ball with a chance to possibly score yet again. Facing a 1st and 10 at their own 43, McCloud would field a bad snap but would be tackled awkwardly, grimacing in pain.

McCloud would need help off the field, and from the looks of it, it wasn’t good, as he was later seen on the sidelines on crutches.

However, without an MRI, things are undetermined, although head coach Jedd Fisch hinted that this won’t be a short-term injury.

So with McCloud out, Arizona and Fisch have to go back to the drawing board to find answers at quarterback again!
