SAN FRANCISCO, CA – With Arizona Basketball in attendance at the annual Pac-12 Media Day, Wildcats Ben Mathurin and Azuolas Tubelis make preseason All-Conference teams.

While the excitement of the 2021-22 Arizona Basketball team is building up with the season just around the corner, the Wildcats first needed to get through the annual Pac-12 Media Day, with head coach Tommy Lloyd, Ben Mathurin, and Azuolas Tubelis in attendance.

Coming into the year, there is a lot of intrigue surrounding the Wildcats. Arizona introduces a first-year head coach, who replaces Sean Miller after he previously coached the Wildcats for 12 seasons.

Beyond that, the Wildcats return a pretty solid squad which will largely be led by sophomore returnees Mathurn and Tubelis.

And with Arizona Basketball being picked to finish in the Top Four of the Pac-12, Ben Mathurin and Azuolas Tubelis will be a big part of the teams’ success.

At the annual Pac-12 Media Day, the Wildcats were one of the more talked about teams on the day, and naturally so.

Again, Lloyd is one of the fresh new faces in the conference, the Wildcats do have a solid group entering the 2021-22 season, and of course, there is still the lingering investigation from the NCAA/IARP.

However, the biggest story for the Wildcats on the day was the preseason hype given out for Tubelis and Mathurin.

Making news at the annual Pac-12 Media Day was that Ben Mathurin and Azuolas Tubelis have been named to the conferences’ preseason teams. Mathurin was named First-Team All-Conference, while Tubelis was named Second-Team All-Conference.

The selections shouldn’t be all that surprising either. Tubelis and Mathurin were a big part of the Wildcats’ success last season, putting together impressive freshmen campaigns, and playing in a fast, and free-flowing offense under Lloyd should only provide more opportunities for them to flourish!

Must Read. Arizona Basketball may be closer to the end of the investigation. light
