Arizona Football to play Air Force in 2029 and 2031
TUCSON, AZ – Making more scheduling announcements for the future, Arizona Football announced they will face Air Force in 2029 and 2031.
For fans of Arizona Football looking for future scheduling dates and information, can perhaps find excitement in the Wildcats scheduling a home-and-home matchup against the Air Force.
Making news on Tuesday afternoon was that the Wildcats have scheduled matchups with the Air Force in 2029 when they come to Tucson, and again in 2031 when the Wildcats travel to Colorado Springs.
Already, these two teams share a little bit of history as Arizona has played Air Force nine times in their program history, but their game in 2029 will be the first time the two teams will meet since they last took the field in 1974. The Wildcats won that game 27-24 in Colorado.
However, Air Force holds the overall series lead with a 6-3 edge over Arizona.
The renewed series brings a bit of excitement as Arizona has not played a Military Academy since 1974, and Air Force is the last and only Academy the Wildcats have faced in their program history.
Arizona Football and Air Force share a unique bond, and the series is a great opportunity for both programs.
For those that are aware, Tucson has a huge military community, especially with the presence of Davis-Monthan Air Force Base located just a few miles from campus.
Beyond that, the University of Arizona offers an ROTC Program for the Air Force, where its qualified participants can earn their commission as an officer in the Air and Space Force Departments of the Air Force upon graduation.
The bond both programs share is a unique one, and the renewed series may possibly bring a bit of a draw to these games.
For 2029, Arizona will open the season on the road at Hawaii, before returning home to face Virginia Tech and Air Force.
In 2031, Arizona will open the year against NAU at home and then travel to Colorado to take on Air Force before returning home against Nebraska.
