RUTHERFORD, NJ – With the New England Patriots (3-4) dominating the New York Jets (1-5) 54-13, former Wildcat J.J. Taylor had a stellar week as well.

It was a huge week for the New England Patriots in the NFL as Mac Jones and crew dominated the New York Jets 54-13. Also having a stellar week was former Wildcat J.J. Taylor.

For those that have been following him in his post-Arizona career, Taylor first joined the Patriots last year as an undrafted free agent, and since then he has been finding decent success as his role has slowly increased.

This past Sunday, Taylor had his best game yet. With the Patriots winning 40-13 with over nine minutes left in the game and with the ball at the one, Taylor got his first career touchdown, punching it in to make it 47-13.

Nearly seven minutes later, Taylor would be fed the ball again at the one-yard line, finding the endzone to make it 54-13. He would eventually finish his day with nine carries for 21 yards and two touchdowns.

The big week from former Wildcat J.J. Taylor could give Patriots more confidence in giving him more opportunities in the future.

At Arizona, Taylor was a fan favorite. Despite being smaller in stature, he still ran with power and poise, even possessing the ability to quickly shift and change directions, often making the defender look foolish. With New England, he is that same player, despite not having the same opportunities.

This year alone, Taylor has appeared in four games, rushing the ball 13 times for 26 yards (2.0 yards per carry). However, in his career, J.J. is now up to 10 games, totaling 36 carries for 136 yards and the two touchdowns scored this past Sunday.

While we don’t expect Taylor to be the featured back in New England, seeing him have an increased role would be nice, as he is a highly undervalued running back with playmaking ability.
