The 2021 Arizona Football season is soon drawing to a close, and as the Wildcats begin to focus more on recruiting, hitting the transfer portal should be the goal.
Arizona Football is in the middle of a lengthy and challenging rebuild, look no further than the Wildcats’ current record being 0-7 (0-4), and their losing streak extending to 19 games as evidence of that.
Well, so far Arizona is on their way to turning things around as they bring in the current No. 36 recruiting class, which should infuse this team with more talent, ideally making them a better group from top-to-bottom.
However, the major thing to note is that the large contingency of talent coming in will be freshmen, and it is hard to depend on 18-to-19-year-old kids to make much of an impact at a level where the players are typically 2-3 years older.
Nonetheless, the Wildcats will have to roll with what they have and finish up the recruiting cycle strong.
With a few spots left for the recruiting class of 2022, the focus for Arizona Football should be to recruit the transfer portal hard.
Arizona and Jedd Fisch are no strangers to the infamous transfer portal, as the Wildcats brought in several recruits just ahead of the 2021 season. However, with the talent still not being where it needs to be to make this a competitive group, it is clear Arizona will need to get more, proven, and experienced talent, and it starts by recruiting the transfer portal.
Look, it is no secret or mystery that there are not very many immediate impact players left in this recruiting class, at least not ones that are seriously considering the Wildcats.
So naturally, with Arizona’s needs on defense and in particular along the offensive line, it is clear that’s where most of the recruiting answers are going to be.
And with guys like Kayden Lyles (Wisconsin), Sebastien Dolcine (FAU), Trent Holler (ECU), and Noah Nelson (Oklahoma) among others in the current transfer portal, hopefully, Fisch and Arizona can find those answers quickly!
