The 2021-22 Arizona Women’s Basketball season is just around the corner and the Wildcats enter the year No. 15 on the WBCA preseason coaches poll.

The Arizona Women’s Basketball team is soon starting their season, and coming into the year there is plenty of hype surrounding the Wildcats as they are fresh off a miraculous Tournament run in which they came up just short in becoming National Champions.

Once again playing in a deep and loaded Pac-12 Conference, the challenge will be on for head coach Adia Barnes and her Wildcats, as they try to best replicate the results from last year, and will also be doing so without Aari McDonald.

The do it all point guard was a big part of the Wildcats’ success the past couple of years, and for the first time in a while, Arizona will have to learn to do it without her.

Luckily, Arizona Women’s Basketball still has enough talent to be competitive as they enter the year No. 15 on the WBCA preseason poll.

Making news on Wednesday afternoon was that the Wildcats are No. 15 on the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association’s preseason poll, and the ranking seems to be pretty fair all things considered.

Joining the Wildcats in the Top 25 from their Conference is defending National Champion, Stanford, entering the year No. 2 on the preseason poll.

Also on the list is Oregon, coming in at No. 9, while UCLA is just ahead of the Wildcats at No. 14, and Oregon State is No. 18, with Washington State and Colorado also receiving votes.

The No. 15 ranking is a respectable one since the National Media has Arizona just a bit lower at No. 22 on the preseason Media Poll Ranking.

The Wildcats should have somewhat lofty expectations this year as they look to return to the ‘Big Dance’ and have enough talent to compete for another possible deep Tournament run.

Arizona has one more tune-up game this Friday against Arizona Christian before officially kicking off their regular-season action when they take on Cal-State Northridge on Tuesday.
