Arizona Football unveils Military Appreciation uni’s for Utah
As Arizona Football (1-8, 1-5) prepares to take on Utah this weekend in Tucson, the Wildcats will wear special uniforms in honor of Military Appreciation.
The 2021 Arizona Football season is quickly drawing to a close, and as the Wildcats prepare for their last home game of the year against Utah, it should be a special day overall.
For starters, it is senior day, which means roughly 23 student-athletes will be playing in their last home game and will be honored before the game by walking with their family.
In addition to that, it is Military Appreciation weekend for Arizona Football, which is a great thing for the community.
As I’ve covered before, Tucson has a large military presence, and Davis-Monthan Air Force Base is just a few miles from campus.
So naturally, with all the festivities going on this weekend, Arizona Football unveiled Military Appreciation uniforms.
Breaking the news via social media on Veteran’s Day, Arizona Football released a short promo video that featured current football player Clay Markoff donning the special military-inspired uniforms while at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base.
This isn’t the first time that Arizona has worn military-inspired uniforms either. If you may recall, Arizona wore gray uniforms in 2016 against Hawaii that honored the 75th anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor and the U.S.S. Arizona.
However, these uniforms will be a little bit different for Arizona.
It’s all in the Details!
For starters, the jerseys are white and will feature red numbers that have subtle camouflage in them. The sleeves, however, will be navy blue and also feature subtle camouflage.
On the right shoulder of the jersey is a patch commemorating the 355th Fighter Wing, a unit of the Air Force that is stationed at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base.
Lastly, on the back of the Wildcats’ helmet are the initials DM for Davis-Monthan.
Overall, these look very sharp and the University did a great job! Hopefully, you all agree as well!
