PULLMAN, WA – Coming off a tough battle with Utah last week, Arizona Football (1-10, 1-7) came out flat in their 44-18 loss to Washington State.

From the start, things looked miserable for Arizona Football. It was a blustery, cool evening in Pullman as the fog rolled in around kickoff, and as a result, the Wildcats looked unprepared, disinterested, and more importantly overmatched in their 44-18 loss to the Cougars.

Coming in, it was a short week for Arizona preparation-wise as the Wildcats were fresh off a competitive showing against Utah last weekend, and had to make the long and unorthodox journey up to Southeastern Washington.

And as last night’s game showed, it is that you just don’t what you’re going to get from this Arizona team.

Facing a tough team and inclement weather on the road, Wazzu started things off hot by scoring back-to-back touchdowns to make it 14-0 early on.

Luckily, Arizona would show some life by responding with a five-play, 90-yard touchdown drive of their own that was capped by a Will Plummer touchdown pass to Boobie Curry to make it 14-7.

However, as we saw in this one, Arizona Football would surrender 23 unanswered points falling behind 37-7, and eventually losing.

Overall, last night was a rough evening for Arizona, as the Wildcats played in a fog almost all evening, the on-field conditions were emblematic of their play as they made mistake after mistake and couldn’t stop the Cougars from running all over the field.

And despite Arizona scoring 18 points and gaining 369 yards, the Cougars were far superior, gaining 482 yards, 223 on the ground en route to scoring 44 points and getting the blowout win.

With the loss, Arizona falls to 1-10 (1-7) on the year and will have to prepare for their final week of the season as they take on in-state rival Arizona State next weekend. We will see how the Wildcats respond.
