Following a terrific career with Arizona Football, wide receiver Stanley Berryhill III is leaving the Wildcats for the NFL.

The 2021 Arizona Football season has been over for nearly a week now, and already there has been a lot of movement this off-season with wide receiver Stanley Berryhill III being the latest Wildcat to announce he is on the move.

Making news via social media on Thursday, Berryhill announced that he would be leaving the Wildcats following a stellar career in Tucson, and will now be making a run for the NFL.

While the news is somewhat surprising, it isn’t entirely shocking either, as some felt there was a slim chance Stanley would even come back, especially after the season he had.

Despite the Wildcats’ finishing a disappointing 1-11 and having an anemic offense, SBIII was one of the few brights spots, finishing the year with 84 catches for 760 yards and a touchdown, while also adding another 121 yards rushing on 19 carries.

He was only the sixth Wildcat in school history to have 80 catches or more in a single season.

The departure of Stanley Berryhill III leaves a big hole for Arizona Football but also provides a great opportunity for others to step up.

It is no secret that Arizona needs help in the worst way possible when it comes to personnel, and while the loss is a big one for the Cats, it does also provide more playing time and more opportunities for younger players and commitments coming in to step and make an impact.

The hope is that with another year under Jedd Fisch’s offensive system, the Cats will have a better on-field product.

As for Berryhill, he will now make a path as he tries to get into the NFL.

At 5-feet-11-inches and 190 pounds, Stanley was one of the better receivers in the Pac-12 Conference, and he showed his value this season as a slot receiver and special teams player, and he is a highly skilled and valuable athlete when given space. Either way, we are excited to see the next steps in his career.
