TUCSON, AZ – Facing Wyoming in a battle of the unbeaten, No. 11 Arizona Basketball (8-0, 1-0) dominates the visiting Cowboys 94-65.

Fresh off a dominant performance over Oregon State, No. 11 Arizona Basketball returned to action against previously unbeaten Wyoming as the Wildcats manhandled the Cowboys en route to a 94-65 thrashing.

Sophomore wing Ben Mathurin had another huge day, scoring 24 points and grabbing 10 rebounds on 10-16 shooting, while Kerr Kriisa would have 17 points as he connected on 5-10 three-point attempts. Azuolas Tubelis would also end his day with 17 points on 7-12 shooting.

Facing a seemingly tougher challenge on Wednesday evening, Arizona was unfazed from the start, even with a marquee matchup against Illinois on Saturday looming.

Jumping out to a 14-3 lead in the first five minutes of play, the Cats looked focused and hungry from the start as Arizona would continue their strong play well into the first half.

Getting things done on both ends of the floor, Arizona extended their first-half lead to 53-22 before they headed into the half up 31 points.

Setting the tone early on, Arizona Basketball would use a big first-half effort as they eventually cruised to the 29-point win over visiting Wyoming.

Leading comfortably, the Wildcats would continue their strong play in the second half as they jumped to as many as 36.

However, Wyoming would finally get into an offensive flow in the second half as they made shots and slowly chipped away at Arizona’s lead.

Outscoring the Cats 26-14 over the next seven minutes of the game, the Cowboys would cut Arizona’s lead down to 24, but it was too little too late at that point.

Arizona’s size and athleticism ultimately wore down Wyoming as the Cats cruised to the dominant, 94-65 win over the visiting Cowboys.

What’s next for No. 11 Arizona Basketball?

With the win, the Wildcats stay unbeaten and improve to 8-0 (1-0) on the year, and will return to action on Saturday, as they travel to Champaign, IL to take on a talented Illinois team (7-2). Tip off is set for 3:00 P.M. MST.
