With Arizona Football continuing to stay busy on the recruiting trail, the Wildcats appear to have their next target in Incarnate Word quarterback, Cameron Ward.

We are approaching the end of 2021 and that the Wildcats are busy wrapping up the recruiting class for 2022 as well. And with a couple of months to go until Spring Ball, it appears Jedd Fisch and Arizona Football have their eyes set on another target, this time it is Incarnate Word quarterback Cameron Ward.

A highly touted FCS transfer that entered the portal back in early December, Ward is one of the bigger names in the infamous transfer portal, and given the Wildcats’ needs at quarterback, it makes sense why they would target him.

Well, making news via social media on Thursday afternoon, Ward revealed that he received a scholarship offer from the Wildcats, this on the heels of receiving offers from Ole Miss, Virginia Tech, and Houston, among several others as well.

After the season that Ward had, it is smart that Jedd Fisch and Arizona Football are getting involved here!

For those that don’t know, Cameron was a standout athlete at Columbia High School in West Columbia, TX in the class of 2020; however, he was lightly recruited as a quarterback out of high school, with offers reportedly from Incarnate Word and Texas Southern only.

Well, fast forward to 2021, and he is now one of the hottest names in college football.

Cameron first took college football by storm, playing in six games for the Cardinals as a true freshman as he passed for 2,260 yards and 24 touchdowns to just four interceptions while completing 183 of his 303 passes (60.4 percent).

However, this past season is what turned peoples’ heads, especially as he started in all 13 games, throwing for an astounding 4,648 yards and 47 touchdowns to just 10 interceptions, all while completing 384 of his 590 passes (65.1 percent).

Granted, Arizona will have some competition with this recruitment here; however, they at least have to shoot for this one. Ward is a special player, and when you watch his film, you can see his potential!
