Spring Football is just around the corner for Arizona Football which still means there is some uncertainty at quarterback as Jordan McCloud posts rehab photo.

The 2021 Arizona Football season was a particularly rough one as the Wildcats finished just 1-11, endured attrition, as well as a myriad of injuries, most namely to that of USF transfer quarterback Jordan McCloud.

As we all saw, McCloud joined the Wildcats a bit later in the year and ran third in the quarterback competition for the early part of the season. However, he made a bit of a splash as he showed promise in his limited action.

First appearing against NAU, McCloud came in late, finishing the game 6-7 passing with 66 yards and a touchdown. Unfortunately, his late efforts were for naught as the Wildcats lost to the visiting Lumberjacks.

He then struggled mightily against Oregon, forcing several bad throws that led to five picks. However, even despite the poor play, the offense was able to move the ball semi-effectively, trailing Oregon just 24-19 after three quarters.

Against UCLA is where he seemed to put it al; together a bit more, throwing for 185 yards while completing 21 of 30 passes.

Unfortunately, an untimely injury to Jordan McCloud against UCLA would derail things even further for Arizona Football.

Amid the Wildcats’ struggles last season, none were more pronounced than at quarterback. And with there still being plenty of uncertainty at the position, a recently posted photo of McCloud’s rehab only gives Wildcat fans more pause as we approach Spring.

Coming into this season, Arizona is desperately seeking improved play and consistency at the quarterback position, and already there is some doubt as to whether McCloud or Gunner Cruz will even be ready.

The hope is that freshman Noah Fifita coming in early will help build immediate depth and that also the Wildcats can bring in another quarterback via the transfer portal.
