Desperately needing more depth and talent along the offensive line this off-season, Jedd Fisch and Arizona Football have added some key pieces.

As we all witnessed this past season, Arizona Football had several glaring weaknesses virtually at every position but none perhaps more glaring than along the offensive line.

Coming into the off-season, it was clear that the Wildcats needed to address the talent issue. And overall the last several weeks/months, Jedd Fisch and the Cats have done just that, putting together a recruiting class that is currently ranked in the Top 20, and a transfer class that is also one of the best in the country.

Picking up several commitments at the skill positions, at quarterback, on defense, etc. However, Arizona was still looking for immediate impact offensive linemen as of last week.

Well, on Friday evening, it looks like Arizona Football finally addressed those needs, picking up two offensive commitments for 2022.

Friday was a busy day for the Wildcats as they played host to several recruits on campus; however, the big news of the day was the commitments of New Mexico transfer lineman, Jack Buford, and JUCO lineman Joe Borjon.

Making their announcements via social media, Jack and Joe join the Wildcats for 2022 and are BIG additions to the roster (I promise that was an unintentional pun).

Let’s take a look at the Wildcats’ newest additions!

Jack Buford comes to Arizona after being a former four-star tackle out of Lutheran North High School in the class of 2019 that committed to Missouri before transferring to New Mexico this past season.

Well, after one year spent in Albuquerque, Jack is on the move again, and now he will be heading even further west as he comes to Tucson.

Coming in, Jack will have to sit out a year as per NCAA transfer rules but at 6-foot-4-inches and 310 pounds, this is a big kid that will help beef up the line once he is ready to play.

As for Joe Borjon, he is a lightly recruited junior college transfer that hails from the talented Mt. San Antonio College aka Mt. SAC in Walnut, CA.

A massive lineman that stands 6-feet-8-inches and roughly 330 pounds, Joe is the kind of player that Arizona desperately needed for its offensive line.

He is big and athletic, he already possesses some college experience (albeit being at the junior college level), and at his size and experience level, he is someone that should provide immediate help and depth along the line.

Overall, both are solid additions, and ones that the Cats needed in a bad way! Hopefully, the offensive line will be much improved heading into 2022, either way, the additions of Jack and Joe are a great start!
