Following another successful completion of his 10-day contract, former Wildcat Stanley Johnson signs a contract with the Los Angeles Lakers.

The journey continues for Stanley Johnson in the NBA, as the former Wildcat signed a two-year deal with the Los Angeles Lakers.

Making news on Wednesday afternoon, NBA Insider Shams Charania announced that the former Arizona star has agreed to a new deal with the Lakers, this on the heels of him completing yet another 10-day contract.

Since being drafted into the NBA in 2015, the Stanimal has been looking for a long-term home, especially since he has not quite lived up to the hype of being a former Top 10 draft pick.

Making stops in Detroit, Toronto, and with Chicago (on a 10-Day Contract), Stanley, unfortunately, has not found that permanent home, but perhaps he has found one in his hometown of Los Angeles.

Being signed to a 10-day contract just ahead of Christmas, Stanley had a great opportunity for a second chance at the league, and he surely made the most of it, starting for the Lakers on Christmas Day and making his impact felt in the teams’ loss to the Brooklyn Nets.

Over his first 10-day contract, Stanley was benefitted from the Lakers being impacted by COVID and injuries. So much, that Stanley signed another 10-day contract shortly after, and has become a bit of a staple for a team that was looking for more veteran leadership and talent.

Well, after a successful stint with Los Angeles Lakers, Stanley Johnson has signed a two-year contract with the team.

In his 14 games played, Stanley has started in six of them, averaging 6.4 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 1.3 assists per game in an average of 21.2. minutes played per game.

With the team getting healthier and returning starters that have been missing in the earlier parts of the year, the belief is that this team could start to turn things around. They are currently 24-24 on the season and sit in 9th place in the Western Conference standings.

As for Stanley, it is just great to see our former Wildcat getting another chance to prove himself. We are hopeful he continues to make the most out of his opportunity!
