With Arizona Football all but wrapping up their recruiting class for 2022, the Wildcats have added a couple of highly touted Walk-On’s.

Despite Arizona Football finishing the 2021 season 1-11, the Wildcats had one hell of an off-season, signing one of their best-recruiting classes in the past 10 years.

And with National Signing Day all finished for 2022, the Wildcats are pretty much down with their recruiting class, bearing anything drastic.

However, as we are all too familiar with by now, it is that the recruiting never truly stops, as the Wildcats have now added a few last-minute pieces for 2022.

Making news on Tuesday evening, Arizona didn’t add a couple more players to the roster; however, as preferred walk-on’s and not actual commitments.

First, it was Jax Stam, a standout safety from just up the road at Liberty High School in Peoria, AZ. Coming in as a three-star recruit, Jax decided to walk-on at Arizona, despite holding offers from Army, Georgetown, New Mexico, and Pennsylvania.

Next, was Jacob Rich Kongaika, a standout defensive lineman from the incredibly talented Mater Dei High School in Santa Ana, CA.

Another three-star recruit in the class for 2022, Jacob decided to take his chance in walking on at Arizona, rather than pursuing his offers from UCLA, Colorado State, and Utah State.

Capping off a heck of an off-season, Arizona Football likely ends their 2022 recruiting cycle by adding two, big-time walk-on’s.

The coaching staff deserves a ton of credit for how things have played over the past several months and adding talented players like Stam and Rich Kongaika as walk-on’s shows just how well this staff has recruited.

From the start, it was clear that Jedd Fisch and the Wildcats desperately needed to raise the level of talent, and in one recruiting cycle, they are well on their way.

While we don’t expect Arizona to suddenly compete for a Pac-12 Championship, or even make a bowl run next season, this off-season is a great start for Arizona in turning things around. Adding Stam and Rich Kongaika is a sweet and emphatic end to the 2022 recruiting class.
