Arizona Basketball adds 2023 shooting guard, KJ Lewis
Continuing to make progress in the recruiting class for 2023, Arizona Basketball received another huge commitment, this time from four-star shooting guard, KJ Lewis.
The recruiting action is heating up for Arizona Basketball as just weeks after receiving a commitment from five-star point guard, Kylan Boswell, the Wildcats have now added four-star shooting guard, KJ Lewis.
Making news via social media on Wednesday evening, the 2023 shooting guard made his college choice, officially picking the Wildcats over offers from Memphis, Texas Tech, Alabama, and Baylor among several others.
Becoming the second commitment in the class of 2023 for Arizona, Lewis is a big commitment for the Wildcats as he is a standout guard/wing from Chapin High School in El Paso, Texas. And over the past few weeks/months, he has been a key target for the Wildcats as KJ originally hails from Tucson.
Coming in as a four-star guard, Lewis is considered to be the No. 23 overall player in the class, the No. 3 shooting guard overall, as well as the No. 3 overall player from the state of Texas according to 247Sports.
The addition of KJ Lewis gives Arizona Basketball another nice recruiting win for the class of 2023.
Standing a sturdy, 6-feet-4-inches and weighing 185 pounds, KJ is a terrific athlete with a great combination of size and length, with a great burst of speed off the dribble.
He uses his frame and length well, having a great feel for the game as he can score at all three levels, which also includes a decent jumper that extends to the three-point line. He could, however, use a bit more consistency on his shooting touch.
Beyond that, he excels on the defensive end and he is a great compliment to Boswell in this high-flying and high-powered offense.
This is a huge pick-up for Arizona and is a great continuation of the success so far in the recruiting class for 2023. Just take a look at the Wildcats’ new shooting guard!
