After a bit of a break, Arizona Women’s Basketball (20-7, 10-6) returns to action, opening the NCAA Tournament against No. 13 UNLV (26-6, 15-3).

The NCAA Tournament is finally here as the No. 4 seed Arizona Women’s Basketball team returns to action to take on 13-seed UNLV on Saturday evening.

Coming into this matchup, the Wildcats are considered the favorites here; however, the Rebels are no pushover. Racking up 26 wins and beating some decent teams along the way, UNLV will be upset-minded entering this one.

On the flip side of that, Arizona has had its fair struggles of late, especially as the team has had to overcome several injuries, most namely to Cate Reese. The senior forward went down with a dislocated shoulder against Washington State nearly a month ago.

So long as Cate is back, Arizona should have a strong chance at surviving the first weekend, and possibly going deep into the tournament once again. Hopefully, head coach Adia Barnes and the Wildcats stay sharp and continue their winning ways!
